Ingredients
Instructions
- Add frozen chicken to crockpot, along with full carton of bone broth.
- Sprinkle salt & pepper over top.
- Cover and cook on high heat for 5 hours.
- Using 2 forks, shred chicken and stir to combine with broth to keep the chicken moist.
Notes
- You can use chicken broth if that's what you have on hand, but bone broth makes the chicken much more flavorful and nutritious.
- This is a perfect, make-ahead protein to stash in your freezer. I usually use half the chicken right away/store in the fridge for that week, and freeze the other half in a food-storage container or freezer bag for the future. Just pop into the fridge the day before and it will be thawed and ready for your favorite chicken recipe!
- Don't toss the leftover broth! Pour a little over the chicken to keep it moist and use the rest in your favorite, homemade soup recipe!
Prayer While You Prepare
Lord, thank You for the gift of slowing down. Just as this food takes time to cook before it's ready to nourish my body, help me to slow my pace so I don’t miss Your presence in the midst of daily life. Teach me to rest in You, to wait with patience, and to trust that You are working in the slow and unseen moments. Amen.
